Jewish History Soundbites stated that R Tzadok advocates fighting for Eretz Yisroel.

The קוממיות quote is from ישראל קדושים נז
but if you look inside you'll see that Alfasi is quoting it totally
out of context. It wasn't an expression that he used to
express his desire to go to EY. It was a description of his
shitta of what Yishuv EY is. On the contrary,
he certainly wasn’t planning on buying tanks
and blasting his way past the Ottomans!

The piece from צקדת הצדיק מו is also not accurate.
He doesn’t advocate repeating the Maapilim, he only predicts
that it could work.

You could read it to mean that a invasion of EY would succeed -
even though it is against the will of Hashem.

Others try to twist his words and say that he refers to teshuva
and not Eretz Yisroel. See the Tzidkas Hatzadik with a running
“translation” on the bottom that came out a few years ago.

I got a lot of email about this when I wrote on this
for the Voice Of Lakewood.

However I was told that R Shraga Feivel Mendlowitz
taught this piece of R Tzadok in the classroom
(to which class, I don't know) in YTV on the day of the
UN vote for Israel. Clearly he didn't read it like these people.

It is worth noting this from Divrei Sofrim:

There is a letter purportedly from RTzH translated as
“the Zionists Are Not Our Saviors”

This is just the beginning of it. I believe it is a fabrication.
I corresponded with R Shnayer Leiman about this and he said
many such of the letters are in the source are fake.
